First Aid at Work - HSE approved

A Health & Safety Executive approved course that complies with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice L74 guidelines for the qualification of workplace first aiders.

Course content:

Delegates receive training in a range of first aid competencies, including:

• Aims and principles of First Aid
• Basic Life Support (Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2005)
• Management of the unconscious casualty
• Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or shocked
• Assessment and treatment of fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries
• Assessment and treatment of burns, poisoning and eye injuries
• Assessment and treatment of common major and minor illnesses
• Prevention of cross-infection during First Aid procedures
• Emergency transport of casualties
• Legal aspects of First Aid at Work: record keeping and use of equipment

Course outcome:

On successful completion of the course and final assessment, delegates receive the nationally recognised First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years.

This course is available on an In House basis - at the clients premises on dates and timings of the clients choice. This allows us to tailor the course content to the specific workplace requirements of the client. The cost is £1800.00 + VAT for up to 12 delegates.
